How do I pair two Soundblades in DUO Mode?Updated 6 months ago
In a DUO Mode setup, the Soundblade on the right becomes the primary device, and the left unit is the secondary. You should connect your source to the primary device. The secondary device will communicate with the primary via an internal wireless connection.
All input sources (USB, Bluetooth, and AUX) can be used when connected to the primary Soundblade. If you're using USB to connect your source device, you only need to connect a single USB cable to the primary unit.
To enter DUO Mode:
Connect your source (USB, Bluetooth, or AUX) to the primary Soundblade (right unit).
Power on the primary Soundblade.
- Press and hold the + and – touch buttons on the device for 5 seconds until the LED starts to flash red and blue.
Power on the secondary Soundblade (left unit).
- Press and hold the + and – touch buttons on the device for 5 seconds until the LED starts to flash red and blue.
Within a few seconds, both Soundblades will automatically connect to each other in DUO Mode. The primary Soundblade's LED will function as normal (with the color reflecting the input mode), and the secondary unit's LED will remain solid yellow.
The remote control will function as normal, but only the primary unit will respond. When changing EQs, both units will be synchronized. Both units will also turn OFF at the same time when either Soundblade is powered down.
Once paired, you can enjoy a stereo setup where the primary Soundblade handles the right channel and the secondary handles the left, creating a much wider soundstage. This setup is particularly useful for dual monitor setups, enhancing the audio experience by providing true left and right channel separation.
Notes:
- DUO Mode works with all input types: USB, Bluetooth (BT), and AUX.
- Turning either Soundblade OFF using the touch sensor button (on the product) will power OFF both units when paired in DUO Mode. However, you will need to turn each unit ON individually, after which the DUO Mode connection will automatically re-establish.
- DUO Mode was added in firmware version 2.2, see How to check your current firmware version.
