Updating Firmware via USB Stick

Follow these steps to update the firmware on your BlueAnt X5i using a USB flash drive.

What You Need

  • A USB storage device formatted with FAT16 or FAT32.
  • The correct firmware file, update.ufw, available to download at the bottom of this page.
  • Ensure the firmware file is the only file on the USB drive and placed in the root directory (not inside any folder).

Firmware Update Process

  1. Turn ON the X5i and allow the power-up sequence to complete.
  2. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the top of the speaker.
  3. The display and lights may appear frozen, but within 10 seconds you should hear 4 short beeps, and the speaker will automatically turn off and enter standby mode.
  4. Remove the USB flash drive and turn the X5i back on. The firmware update is now complete, and your speaker is ready to use.

Important Notes

  • Do not turn off the power or remove the USB storage device during the update. Doing so may permanently damage the speaker.
  • The firmware upgrade process takes approximately 15 seconds
