Updating Firmware via USB Stick
Follow these steps to update the firmware on your BlueAnt X5i using a USB flash drive.
What You Need
- A USB storage device formatted with FAT16 or FAT32.
- The correct firmware file, update.ufw, available to download at the bottom of this page.
- Ensure the firmware file is the only file on the USB drive and placed in the root directory (not inside any folder).
Firmware Update Process
- Turn ON the X5i and allow the power-up sequence to complete.
- Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the top of the speaker.
- The display and lights may appear frozen, but within 10 seconds you should hear 4 short beeps, and the speaker will automatically turn off and enter standby mode.
- Remove the USB flash drive and turn the X5i back on. The firmware update is now complete, and your speaker is ready to use.
Important Notes
- Do not turn off the power or remove the USB storage device during the update. Doing so may permanently damage the speaker.
- The firmware upgrade process takes approximately 15 seconds
